Welcome to the Peace Corps Fund
Supporting the Third Goal of the Peace Corps
To increase the understanding of the peoples served on the part of Americans.
For Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), this not only means sharing their experiences and knowledge of their countries of service, but remaining active citizens engaged in community and national service.
The Peace Corps was founded by President John F. Kennedy’s executive order on March 1, 1961, and established by the Congress’s passing of the Peace Corps Act(hyperlinked). Since then, starting with Ghana in 1961, more than 230,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have answered the call to service and committed themselves to three goals of the agency.
